AC Course Development Grants
The American Cultures (AC) Center offers course development grants of up to $1,500 to assist in the design of an AC course. Such course development might build on an existing course offering but which is currently non-AC in status, or assist with the development of a new course which has yet to be offered.

ACES Program Grants
The American Cultures Center welcomes applications for the next cycle of American Cultures Engaged Scholarship (ACES) funding. The ACES program provides faculty with the opportunity to develop, broaden, or deepen their research and teaching of community-engaged scholarship.

Multimedia Teaching and Learning Initiative
The Multimedia Teaching and Learning Initiative and its fellowship program allows faculty and graduate students to enrich course instruction by working with media-based resources from the Media Resources Center (MRC) to create a critical and collaborative “clip” collection from some of their favorite and yet to be found favorite DVDs in the MRC. Members participate in a one-semester fellowship and receive a one-time grant of $250 at the end of the term, and an honorary certificate from the American Cultures Center.

Creative Discovery Grants
Berkeley Arts + Design offers undergraduate course grants of up to $5,000 to promote innovative pedagogy in Creative Discovery. Timed to coincide with the evolution of our campus’s Discovery platform, Arts + Design seeks to promote novel educational experiences that cross disciplines and that integrate creative projects into your courses.

Berkeley Collegium Grant Program
The Berkeley Collegium invites proposals for new and existing faculty projects that further the goal of narrowing the gap between teaching and research at Berkeley. The Collegium aims to fund up to five projects of up to $15,000 each over a one- to two-year grant period depending on the nature of the project.

Berkeley Discover Departmental Innovation Awards
Berkeley Discover is a new initiative to develop and infuse the Discovery Arc throughout the undergraduate experience. The Departmental Innovation Awards will provide funding and Berkeley Discovery staff guidance to departments in a multi-year process of weaving Discovery into the fabric of the undergraduate experience.

Lecturer Teaching Fellows
Provides UC Berkeley lecturers with an exceptional opportunity to work individually, or in teams, to build teaching and learning tools, templates, and resources for both their individual courses and the entire campus community. Ten to twelve lecturers are selected annually to participate in a series of workshops and seminars focused on teaching and learning. Participants receive grants of $1,500 each for instructional improvement applied to their home department account.

Presidential Chair Fellows Curriculum Enrichment Grant Program
Provides an opportunity for a team of two or more faculty members from a department to develop, improve, transform, and examine core areas of the undergraduate curriculum. The grant program will fund up to four projects, each up to $22,000 over the one-year grant period.

Teaching Excellence Colloquium
Offers new UC Berkeley faculty the unique opportunity to engage with new faculty peers, explore shared teaching interests, and conduct peer observations of classroom teaching. Faculty who participate throughout the year will be provided a course improvement grant of $2,000, a certificate, and a letter from their dean in support of their next merit review.
